Job summary

CCRES, Educational & Behavioral Health Services is hiring a Paraprofessional to support students in Newport School District. The role pays $18/hour and follows the academic calendar.

Five days of paid time off are included, with paid credentials available through CCRES. You will provide instructional and behavioral support to individuals or small groups, assist with IEP/504 accommodations, reinforce learning, and help students develop organizational and social skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• With less than 2 years post secondary, must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB.
• Associates or Bachelors Degree - preferred.
• Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to individual students or small groups, including on-task prompting, social skills development, and self-care assistance.
• Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans by implementing accommodations and strategies as directed.
• Reinforce learning concepts, classroom instruction, and skill development to help students achieve their educational goals.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted academic and behavioral support.
• Assist students in developing organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent living skills.
• Guide students through classroom activities, monitor participation and progress, and provide feedback to instructional staff.
• Promote positive student behavior and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators to support student success.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, transitions, and other non-instructional school activities.
• Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth.
