Job summary

CCRES Educational and Behavioral Health Services partners with Unionville-Chadds Ford School District to hire a Special Education Paraprofessional. You will support students with IEPs/504 plans and assist in classroom activities, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Position is paid at $18.54/hour with 5 days of PTO annually; work follows the school calendar, with 6.5 hours per school day and a half-hour lunch break.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; for Title I positions - must pass for 'highly qualified' as mandated by NCLB.
• Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting preferred.
• PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) required.
• PA Criminal Clearance (Act 34) required.
• PA Department of Education FBI clearance required.
• TB Screening required.
• Education Documentation - Diploma or Official Transcript required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to individual students or small groups.
• Support students with IEPs and 504 Plans by implementing accommodations and strategies.
• Reinforce learning concepts, classroom instruction, and skill development.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted academic and behavioral support.
• Assist students in developing organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent living skills.
• Guide students through classroom activities, monitor participation and progress, and provide feedback to staff.
• Promote positive student behavior and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to support student success.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, transitions and other non-instructional activities.
