Job summary

South San Francisco Unified School District is seeking a Paraprofessional II – Special Education to assist certificated teachers in a designated classroom serving students with moderate to severe needs. You will reinforce instruction, tutor small groups, and support behavior management and materials preparation.

The role involves daily living and health care activities as assigned, with a 6-hour day schedule, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED with some experience with children.
• At least two years of college (48 units) or an associate's or higher degree.
• Alternative demonstrated knowledge via formal assessment in reading, writing, and math.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated teachers in reinforcing instruction for individuals or small groups.
• Tutor students and support behavior management in the classroom.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with daily living activities as needed.
• Provide routine clerical support and assist in health-related activities as assigned.

Education

Graduation from high school or equivalent GED; some experience working with children

Two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 units)

Associate’s or higher degree

Demonstrated reading, writing, and mathematics knowledge through assessment
