Aspen High School is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional II to join for the 2026–27 school year in Aspen, Colorado. The role supports students with special needs across environments under the direction of the high school principal.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP-aligned instructional activities, monitoring student progress, and maintaining records. The position is full-time, non-exempt for the 9-month contract period, with health benefits and a signing bonus for new

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR/First Aid certificate (may be obtained through Aspen School District).
• Crisis intervention training annually is required.
• One year of school environment experience (preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• Spanish bilingual (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with regular and special education teachers to plan and implement assignments aligned with IEP goals.
• Implement daily educational and behavioral programming under supervision.
• Monitor student behavior and provide support in small groups or individually.
• Assist with toileting, personal care, and feeding as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of activities, progress, and behavior plans.
• Support communication tools to ensure information exchange with families and staff.
• Participate in professional development as required.
