Job summary

Poudre High School in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking a Paraprofessional II for the Affective Needs program within the Special Education/Integrated Services team. The role supports students with significant needs, assists teachers, and helps implement behavior plans and health-related tasks.

The position offers health, dental, life insurance, and retirement benefits, with a 186-day calendar and 7.5 hours per day.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of related experience preferred.
CPI or crisis training may be required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Assist classroom or special education teacher and support students with significant needs.
Implement behavior strategies and de-escalation techniques.
Monitor students in various settings and ensure safety.
Assist with personal care, mobility, and health care plans as needed.
Support development of self-regulation, social skills, and daily living tasks.
Maintain records of behavior and progress for IEP meetings.
Coordinate with staff to implement IEP goals and crisis plans.
Provide cross-setting support across general and special education contexts.
Participate in training and staff meetings for skill development.
Adapt quickly to student needs and respond to safety concerns.
Assist with school-wide safety procedures and emergencies.
