Job summary

Bright Star Schools in Los Angeles, CA is hiring a Paraprofessional (10-month, full-time, non-exempt) to support students with IEPs in general education, under the supervision of an Education Specialist.

Responsibilities include push-in/pull-out instructional support, collaboration with teachers, documenting service minutes in Welligent, monitoring progress toward IEP goals, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead, direct, and instruct students of all ages.
• Flexibility and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities (SWDs) across various settings.
• Provide targeted instructional support to students with IEPs in push-in and pull-out settings, with Inclusion/SDC collaboration.
• Maintain open lines of communication with ISTs, Special Day Class Teachers, and general education staff.
• Provide input to case managers and teachers to inform IEP development based on progress and needs.
• Regularly meet with ISTs and Special Day Class Teachers.
• Document all service minutes and session details into Welligent by 5pm Friday.
• Track and monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
• Support students in developing academic, executive functioning, social-emotional, and behavioral skills.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information per FERPA and IDEA.
