The Camp Hill School District is seeking candidates for Special Education Paraprofessional positions available in the District, including elementary autism support paraprofessionals and a middle/high school emotional support paraprofessional position. Job responsibilities may include support for toileting and all require ability to hold Safe Crisis Management certification (training is provided by the District).
Special education paraprofessionals are employed to assist the special education teacher in implementing special education or related services for a class and/or to provide direct assistance to students.
In addition to stooping, crouching, reaching with hand and arm, standing in a stationary position, walking at moderate speeds, and use of fingers, the position may require physically assisting students with specials needs (positioning, lifting, transferring, restraining, etc.). Person must be able to communicate verbally and to hear with no more than a 40-decibel loss. Vision clarity of near, far and mid-range vision is needed (less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet). Depth perception, ability to focus on objects clearly, with field of vision and ability to identify colors is recommended.
