Job summary

Spearman Jr. High is seeking a Special Education paraprofessional to assist in the classroom for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.

This is a non-certified position, supporting students with disabilities under the supervision of a certified teacher and principal. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living and instructional tasks, implementing IEP goals, behavior management, and ensuring safety during transfers and activities.

Qualifications

• English communication required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Highly qualified: two years of college OR associates degree OR rigorous five-day training and assessment.
• Applicant must undergo FBI fingerprinting and criminal history check before employment.

Responsibilities

• Work with children with disabilities.
• Meet individual needs including transfers to/from wheelchair and personal care.
• Help manage behavior of assigned students.
• Develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises as directed by the teacher.
• Assist throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
