Qualifications

• Two-year degree or pass Parapro Assessment.
• PCA training provided.
• Ability to work as a team member with staff and parents.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to support student's full body weight up to adult size.
• Ability to tolerate frequent bending and lifting.
• Experience with diverse students and behavior challenges.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing skills.
• Demonstrate intercultural competence to support diverse students.
• Understand and respond to students' needs and abilities.
• Guide independent study and enrichment activities.
• Assist with large group activities and field trips.
• Supervise hygiene routines including lifting.
• Support students to/from bus and around the building.
• Apply behavior management techniques as directed by the teacher.
• Carry out clerical tasks related to students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
