27J Schools in Denver metro area is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional - Generalist to support students with disabilities at Southlawn Elementary. The role involves direct instruction, data collection, and collaboration with teachers.

Starting pay is $20.89 per hour with an 8.5-hour day, Tuesday through Friday, a 9-month schedule, and benefits eligibility. Candidates should be able to pass background checks and lifting requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as Behavior Plans, IEPs, staff and student handbooks.
• Ability to collect data, write routine reports and simple correspondences.
• Ability to effectively present information to teachers and related services providers.
• Ability to solve practical problems with concrete variables.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and supervision for students with disabilities in general and special education classrooms.
• Modify academic materials under guidance and assist with delivery of instruction.
• Identify and facilitate peer relationships and natural supports.
• Follow behavior intervention plans and monitor safety in school and activities.
• Maintain required forms and records as requested by teachers.
• Assist teachers with minor clerical duties as needed.
• Attend trainings and student staffings as requested.
