Job summary

West Springfield Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for the CLEAR Program at Coburn Elementary in West Springfield, MA. The role supports students under the direction of a teacher to help meet IEP goals, reinforce learning, and assist with instructional and data collection tasks.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree or 48 college credits (or WorkKeys) and has experience with students with autism and ABA.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 48 college credits attained.
• Experience working with students with autism.
• Background in ABA.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces learning with individual students or small groups.
• Inform the teacher of any problems or special information about students.
• Participate in in-service training programs, as assigned.
• Work with students in independent study, skills work, and remedial work assigned by the teacher.
• Other related duties may be assigned.
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Assist in gathering data on students.
• Discrete trial implementation and data collection.
• Safety care training which will be provided by WSPS.
