Job summary

Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support a high school student in Bridgeport, CT. This role focuses on managing behavior, implementing IEP and BIP, and maintaining a safe, productive classroom.

You will collect data on behavior and progress, collaborate with the special education team, and contribute to a supportive learning environment with competitive pay up to $27.70 per hour and comprehensive benefits, including 37.5 hours per week,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years of college credit (Required).
• High School diploma/equivalent and a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment (Required).
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training is strongly preferred.
• Strong behavior management background with middle/high school students (Preferred).

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

• Provide dedicated one‑on‑one support to an High School student, focusing on managing and modifying high‑level behavioral needs in the classroom.
• Implement the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) by consistently applying de‑escalation and therapeutic crisis intervention techniques to maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment.
• Collect and maintain accurate data on the student's behavior patterns, interventions, and progress, and communicate effectively with the special education teacher and behavior specialists.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or 2years of college credit(Required)
  • Alternatively: High School diploma/equivalent and a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment(Required)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training is (Strongly Preferred)
• Strong behavior management background and experience with middle/high school students (Preferred)
