We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting students with developmental disabilities and autism, helping them succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instructional and behavioral support to students under the guidance of a Special Education Teacher
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans
- Support students in both classroom and small-group settings to promote engagement and independence
- Help adapt instructional materials and classroom activities to meet diverse learning needs
- Collect data on student progress and communicate observations to the teaching and support team
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages participation and confidence
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and other daily living tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities or in special education settings preferred
- Understanding of ABA strategies, behavioral supports, and positive reinforcement techniques a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners
