Job summary

Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support a high school student in Bridgeport, CT. This role focuses on managing behavior, implementing IEP and BIP, and maintaining a safe, productive classroom.

You will collect data on behavior and progress, collaborate with the special education team, and contribute to a supportive learning environment with competitive pay up to $27.70 per hour and comprehensive benefits, including 37.5 hours per week,

Qualifications

Associate degree or 2 years of college credit (Required).
High School diploma/equivalent and a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment (Required).
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training is strongly preferred.
Strong behavior management background with middle/high school students (Preferred).

Responsibilities

Provide dedicated one-on-one support to a High School student, focusing on managing and modifying high-level behavioral needs in the classroom.
Implement the student's IEP and BIP, applying de-escalation and crisis intervention to maintain a safe learning environment.
Collect and maintain accurate data on behavior, interventions, and progress, and communicate with the special education teacher and behavior specialists.
