Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to support students with diverse needs. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 6.5 hours per day, with a 30-minute unpaid break, totaling 7.0 hours daily. Start date is ASAP, and pay is $28.05 per hour under the paraeducator labor agreement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with additional college credits or degree, or ParaPro score requirement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interaction with staff, students, and families.
• Ability to work with emotionally, physically, and/or mentally impaired students and maintain composure.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and interpret documents; CPI training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and support students in classrooms and other learning sites; help develop self-advocacy and independence.
• Monitor and record classroom behaviors, set expectations, and provide appropriate consequences for misbehavior.
• Collaborate with teachers to determine appropriate instructional levels and modifications.
• Assist with daily instructional plans and materials preparation; provide small group support when needed.
• Supervise students during lunch and field trips; assist with assignments and grading tasks as required.
