Job summary

Poudre School District in Fort Collins is seeking multiple paraprofessional positions for Affective Needs, Integrated Learning Supports (ILS) or Center-Based Autism (CBA) programs at Fort Collins High School. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 3 months of hire.
• Special Education Paraprofessional Academy classes (5 in first 2 years of hire).

Responsibilities

• Assist general classroom or special education teachers with instruction and materials.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Monitor students in classrooms, hallways and during transitions; support safety procedures.
• Provide hands-on support with personal care, mobility, feeding, and health care plans.
• Use assistive technology and AAC devices to support communication.
• Maintain records on student behavior, interventions, and progress; input Medicaid data as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, mental health providers, case managers and staff on IEP goals and crisis plans.
• Support student development of self-regulation, social skills and daily living independence.
• Attend specialized training and participate in staff meetings and development activities.
