Southeast Polk Community School District is seeking a Teacher Associate for the EmpowerU program at the Alternative Programs Building in Altoona, IA. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain required training including medication certification, First Aid/CPR, CPI.
• Experience working in an educational setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work with Pre-K through 12th grade and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Assists with small groups and/or individual student instruction and supervision.
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment across settings (classroom, lunchroom, playground, field trips).
• Travels with students to internship opportunities at community locations.
• Assists with classroom setup and material preparation.
• Supports students with physical or behavioral needs as required.
• Maintains confidentiality and student privacy; completes clerical tasks as assigned.
