Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Teacher Associate to support students under supervision of professional staff. The role involves assisting with instruction and daily activities, supervising students in multiple settings, and helping with materials and health-related tasks as needed.

Work is seven hours per day with a starting wage of $17.26 per hour and a commitment to student safety and positive relationships.

Qualifications

Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to supervise students while maintaining positive relationships.

Responsibilities

Under direction of professional staff work with students individually or in group settings.
Assist with supervision of students (classroom, cafeteria, halls, etc.).
Implement behavior management strategies.
May include riding the bus with students.
May include working one to one with student to complete assigned tasks.
Student supervision required.
Ensuring student safety is required.
Assist students with health assistance under nurse guidance.
Assist in preparation of educational materials.
Assist students at mealtime.
Assist students in personal hygiene areas.
Help get students to and from bus or car.
