Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools in Minnesota is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraeducator to support students in classrooms and community settings. The schedule is 6.5 hours per day, with a 30‑minute unpaid break.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus one of the listed options.
• Excellent human relations skills.
• Ability to present information one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to work cooperatively in teams and be patient with parents and students.
• Willingness to work with emotionally/physically/mentally impaired students.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
• Ability to operate a computer and use multiple software packages.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and support students in classrooms and other learning sites.
• Monitor and record classroom behaviors; discuss expectations and apply consequences.
• Meet with teachers to determine performance levels and modifications; assist daily plans.
• Assist in implementing daily instructional plans and materials preparation.
• May supervise students in modified learning centers and during field trips.
• Assist with personal hygiene and medical needs as required.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss student progress with staff and parents.
• Must lift and comply with district policies.
