Job summary

The Mounds View Public School District is seeking a Non-Contract Supervisory Paraeducator. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday for 2.0 hours per day, with a start date of September 8, 2026, and pay at $22.00 per hour according to the paraeducator labor agreement.

The position carries no benefits. Responsibilities include supervising students, supporting teachers, maintaining discipline, and communicating with staff, students, and families as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent human relations skills with staff, students, and community.
• Ability to present information one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to get along with others and be patient with parents and students.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills.
• Ability to operate computer and related equipment.
• Familiarity with district policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students and assist with discipline on-site and during field trips.
• Coordinate with bus drivers, staff, parents, and community members.
• Monitor student behavior and apply appropriate consequences.
• Provide information to parents and drivers as needed.
• Assist with supervision in playground, hallways, lunchroom, buses, restrooms, and parking areas.
• Help classroom teacher with supervision and materials; assist in field trips.
• In early childhood, assist with diapers, feeding, stories, cleanup.
• Refer maintenance issues to custodial staff.
• Assist with fire drills and safety procedures.
• Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones and greeting visitors.
