Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a Supervisory Paraeducator to support student supervision and safety during the school day. The role runs Monday through Friday at 3.42 hours per day, starting September 8, 2026, with pay of $23.73 per hour under the paraeducator labor agreement.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent human relations skills when dealing with staff, students, and community.
• Ability to present information one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to get along with people and be patient with parents and students.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to operate computer and related equipment.
• Awareness of district requirements and Board policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and assist administration and teachers in supervising students.
• Maintain discipline on-site and during field trips; communicate with bus drivers, community members, students, staff and parents.
• Supervise students in playgrounds, hallways, lunchrooms, bus areas, restrooms, locker rooms, or parking lots.
• Monitor student behavior and apply appropriate consequences per plans and policies.
• Provide information to parents, drivers, and community members as needed.
• Assist students needing special assistance (e.g., using elevators).
• Assist classroom teachers with supervision and preparing materials; may escort children and supervise on field trips; diapering and feeding in early childhood programs.
• Report maintenance issues to custodial staff.
• Assist with fire drills and safety procedures.
• Perform general clerical tasks (phones, greeting visitors, filing, mail, office equipment).
• Other duties as assigned.
