Job summary

Carey Junior High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming seeks a Paraeducator – Special Education to support students with diverse needs under the supervision of a certified teacher.

You will reinforce curriculum, assist with IEP objectives, monitor behavior, and help prepare materials and records across classroom, bus, and field trips.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; no experience is needed; this full‑time, 10‑month, non‑exempt position offers benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Experience working with school age children preferred.
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, assists students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and adapt materials. (50%)
• Confers with teacher to evaluate progress and maintain records. (10%)
• Collaborates with teachers to implement IEP objectives and monitor progress. (10%)
• Monitors and supervises students in classroom, playground, field trips, library, lunchroom, and bus areas. (10%)
• Assists in making copies and organizing classroom materials and supplies. (10%)
• Assists other personnel and completes clerical tasks as needed. (2%)
• Responds to emergencies to ensure safety and safety procedures adherence. (2%)
• Attends meetings and trainings as required. (2%)
• Performs other duties as assigned. (Ongoing 4%)
