Job summary

Laramie County School District 1 EAST HIGH SCHOOL is seeking a Paraeducator - Special Needs to support students with educational and personal needs under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role involves reinforcing learning concepts, assisting with individual goals, and maintaining documentation of student activities and behavior.

Responsibilities include cooperating with teachers to implement IEPs, monitoring student progress, and providing clerical support to staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with school age children preferred.
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
• Experience working in a healthcare field preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Training on delegated healthcare procedures required within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Guides students individually or in small groups to practice and reinforce learning goals.
• Monitors and adheres to student schedules and behavior plans.
• Administers tests and assigns make-up work to support learning.
• Collaborates to implement IEP objectives and attends meetings as needed.
• Monitors safety and helps maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assists with materials preparation, documentation, and clerical tasks.
