Job summary

The Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant II in Special Education to support teaching staff, develop instructional materials, and maintain student records. This role focuses on individualized and small-group instruction across SPED programs, including EC/early childhood and SIP contexts.

Experience with data collection, behavior management, and collaboration with teachers and families is valued.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Any experience equivalent to education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills.
One year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the class, such as student instructional activities or personal guidance of students within an organized program.
Two (2) years of experience as a Paraeducator aide or two (2) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the class, such as student instructional activities or personal guidance of students within an organized program.

Responsibilities

Assists teaching staff in a variety of classroom and related areas.
Assists in planning, preparing and developing teaching aids and lesson outlines.
Maintains student discipline and progress records and communicates with teachers and parents.
Presents concepts using a variety of teaching methods within traditional and/or non-traditional settings.
