Job summary

Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is seeking a Paraeducator 1 to provide instructional assistance and basic health-related support to students under supervision. The position supports non-intrusive medical care, mobility assistance, and classroom activities in alignment with IEPs and state standards.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional delivery, data recording, and collaboration with teachers and service providers.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one of: 48 college units, Associate’s degree, or pass ESSA written exam.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students individually or in groups.
• Assist with health-related needs and basic medical tasks as trained.
• Transport and supervise students during bus rides and on-site activities.
• Support implementation of IEPs and health care plans.
• Prepare instructional materials and assistive technology as directed by the teacher.
• Monitor student behavior and document progress.
