Job summary

The Washoe County School District in Reno, NV, is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant II HQ for a Special Education classroom. Under general supervision, you will assist teaching staff, prepare materials, track student progress, and support individual and group instruction.

Qualifications include completing 48 college semester hours or an associate degree, or passing the ParaPro with 460; prior paraeducator experience is helpful; school-year schedule with benefits for 27.5+ hrs.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 48 semester hours of credit at an accredited college or university; or obtained an associate's degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university; or passed the ParaPro Assessment with a score of at least 460.
• Assist in developing and maintaining instructional materials and records for students.
• Must meet HQ requirements for Special Education positions as described.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in a variety of classroom and related areas; help prepare lesson outlines and plans; assist in planning and developing teaching aids.
• Support students individually or in groups with lesson assignments and learning concepts.
• Observe progress and communicate with the classroom teacher and parents as needed; prepare classrooms and audiovisual equipment.
