Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant III HQ to support Special Education under general supervision. The role requires HQ status, a high school diploma, and appropriate educational credentials.

Duties include assisting teaching staff, preparing instructional materials, and supporting students with lessons in a structured classroom setting. The position may involve data collection, lesson planning, and collaboration with teachers to implement individualized education

Qualifications

• Education: 48 semester hours or an associate's degree or higher; or ParaPro score 460.
• Experience: One year of instructional or guidance work with students is typical.
• High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Two years as a Paraeducator aide or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in classrooms and related areas.
• Prepare lesson outlines, plans and teaching aids.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments.
• Observe progress and refer to the teacher for next steps.
• Maintain classroom materials and equipment, and manage basic records.
