The position requires HQ status, completion of 48 semester hours (or an associate degree or higher), or a ParaPro score of 460, plus relevant instructional experience.

Qualifications

• HQ requirement: must be Highly Qualified as stated.
• Education: 48 semester hours or an associate degree or higher or ParaPro score 460.
• Experience: 1 year in instructional activities or related guidance.
• Two years paraeducator aide experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in various classrooms and related areas.
• Prepare lesson outlines and plans.
• Develop teaching aids and instructional materials.
• Present subjects using diverse methods in traditional or non-traditional settings.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments.
• Prepare and grade exams and homework.
• Monitor progress and refer to teachers/parents as needed.
• Maintain classroom materials and equipment.
• Support student discipline and order across school areas.
• Operate standard office and AV equipment.
