Job summary

North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator for a 32.5-hour work week (Mon-Fri, 8:30 am–3:30 pm) with ASAP start. Pay is $24.54 per hour, and benefits align with the paraeducators’ labor agreement.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with approved post-secondary options or a ParaEducator test, along with physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and restrain students when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with additional education options (AA/AS/AAS or 60 credits or 90 quarter credits toward bachelor’s).
• Passing score on ParaEducator test qualifies you for the position.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and restrain students in emergency situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction by providing support and practical training across subject matters.
• Assist the teacher with planning, scheduling, and organizing learning materials.
• Support students with needs including behavior management, feeding, movement, and supervision on activities and bus loading/unloading.
• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation for IEPs; ensure confidentiality.
