Job summary

USD505-St. Paul K-12 in St. Paul, Kansas seeks an Instructional Paraeducator to assist in supervision, care and instruction of students with special needs under the direction of a Special Education Teacher.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP-based activities, supporting classroom routines, and coordinating with staff. Requires HS diploma or equivalent with 48 college hours or Master Teacher Exam within 90 days, and ongoing in-service training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 48 college hours or Master Teacher Online Exam within first 90 days.
• 20 hours per year of in-service training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing accommodations of classroom activities under the teacher's direction.
• Aid students in and out of classroom and support social growth.
• Assist with personal care needs to support participation in school activities.
• Participate in trainings to meet state requirements.
• Collaborate with staff to support student progress as per IEP.
• Create visual aids for students with vision impairments when needed.
• Implement educational and behavioral programming under supervision of certified staff.
• Support students with challenging behaviors following school policies.
