Job summary

The Mead School District is seeking a Paraeducator for Northwood Middle School in Spokane, WA. The role supports students with disabilities, assists teachers with instructional activities, and helps implement IEP plans in a collaborative, inclusive setting.

The position is Monday–Friday, 7:35 am–2:45 pm (with Wednesday 8:15 am–2:45 pm). A high school diploma and current first aid/CPR are required, with continued opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.
• Ability to work with students in a warm, supportive manner.
• Knowledge of student safety rules and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in meeting instructional and behavioral needs of students with disabilities.
• Assist in teaching and learning in small or large groups to reinforce objectives.
• Observe, record data, chart behavior, and prepare materials as needed.
• Follow plans and procedures outlined by administrators or certificated staff.
• Maintain safety and order in classrooms and shared spaces.
• Collaborate with Special Education teachers and other paraeducators.
