Job summary

Sylvania in Minnesota is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator for Special Education to support students with disabilities in mainstream, resource, or center-based settings. The role involves assisting instruction, managing behavior, and recording student progress across academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming and social interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; PCA certification to be completed within 30 days of start date.
• Candidates must have completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher) or have passed ParaEducator/ParaPro exams.
• Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; ability to work with technology and computers.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds; physically able to perform duties in classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manage behavior and redirect or remove disruptive students.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills and social skills.
