Claremore Public Schools seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional for Claremont Elementary to assist certified staff in supporting students with disabilities. Under supervision, you will reinforce instruction, monitor progress, and help with daily activities to promote inclusion and safety.

The role involves small group and one-on-one support, assisting with IEP goals, classroom routines, and record-keeping, as well as supervising lunch, bus, and transitions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus one of: Associates Degree, 48 hours of college credit, ParaPro Test or ability to pass.
• Prior experience with special needs children desirable.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsabilités

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction.
• Work individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist in administering and correcting classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Support instructional materials and strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Maintain student learning records and monitor progress.
• Help with classroom behavior management to ensure a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervise non-instructional areas such as lunch, bus, playground, and study hall.
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement in education.
• Support students with special needs to maximize inclusion and achievement.
