Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Special Education Multi Disabled Aide for a full-time position in Opelika, AL. You will support students with daily academic, mobility, personal care, and self-help needs while promoting independence and safety during the school day.

The role offers competitive pay up to $20/hour, a steady school-year schedule, LIAB insurance, and 401(k) with company match; mileage reimbursement and licensure/CEU reimbursements are available.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate’s degree, OR
• Have completed at least 48 semester hours at a regionally accredited institution, OR
• Have successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education-approved WorkKeys test.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, and other self-help skills.
• Support student mobility and safe movement throughout the school campus.
• Assist with transporting assistive technology devices and student materials as needed.
• Provide support with classroom activities, reading, and other curriculum-related tasks under teacher guidance.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material introduced by the special education teacher.
• Accompany students to the school office, nurse, and other areas as needed.
• Build supportive, professional relationships that encourage student independence and success.
• Participate in student support meetings and in-service training programs as requested.
• Perform additional classroom duties and assignments to support an effective and safe learning environment.
