Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Aide for a school setting in Opelika, AL. In this role, you\'ll support students with daily academic, mobility, personal care, and self-help needs while promoting independence and safety during the school day.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate’s degree, OR 48 semester hours, OR WorkKeys test completion.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• School-based experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, and other self-help skills.
• Support student mobility and safe movement throughout the campus.
• Assist with transporting devices and materials as needed.
• Provide support with classroom activities, reading, and curriculum tasks under teacher guidance.
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Accompany students to the office, nurse, and other areas as needed.
• Build professional relationships to encourage independence and success.
