Job summary

Watertown Public Schools Watertown High School in Watertown, Massachusetts seeks a Long-Term Substitute Instructional Assistant for Special Education to support students with disabilities. The position runs from Sep 1, 2026 to Dec 4, 2026, at a daily rate of $139.

Under supervision of the Principal and teachers, you will help implement instruction, monitor behavior plans, maintain data, and assist with classroom activities. Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience with students with disabilities a plus.
• Experience supporting students in public schools preferred.
• Multilingual candidates encouraged; list languages in application materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide supports to students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Maintain student data as directed by teachers / related service providers.
• Follow and implement behavior support plans as provided by teachers / related service providers.
• Provide overall support to the classroom teacher and student, based on needs.
• Incorporate knowledge of student learning styles and child development.
• Adapt assistance when strategies are not effective by consulting the teacher.
• Provide verbal support, prompting, redirection, and modeling for curriculum access.
• Perform other duties as required.
