Job summary

Poteet ISD is seeking a Special Education Life Skills Aide for the Intermediate Campus to support a certified teacher in providing services to students with disabilities. The role involves helping with self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities in a school setting.

Must have at least 48 college hours or the Treasuring Paraprofessionals Training and be able to assist with transfers, lifting, and daily personal care tasks. The position is full-time on-site at the Poteet campus.

Qualifications

• Meet NCLB requirements.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Able to lift 100+ pounds and assist with safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat, orderly classroom and manage inventory.
• Assist with student transfers and personal care as needed.
• Monitor students during lunch, bus, and playtime.
• Keep records and assist substitute teachers.
