Job summary

Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking an experienced Coordinator of Special Education (COSE) to lead compliance and continuous improvement of services across the school. The COSE ensures students with disabilities receive FAPE in LRE while supporting strong academic, social-emotional, and post-secondary outcomes.

The role leads with IDEA, Section 504, and DESE regulations, building partnerships with families, teachers, and outside providers to deliver high-quality, equitable services.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE license in one of: Special Education (Moderate or Severe Disabilities), School Psychologist, School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor, or Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IDEA, DESE regulations, and Section 504.
• Minimum three years of experience in special education or related services.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Master’s degree in Special Education or Administrative/supervisory credentials may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all special education services across the school.
• Coach and support SPED teachers and service providers.
• Ensure IEPs are developed, implemented, and compliant.
• Lead Section 504 coordination and accommodations.
• Coordinate testing accommodations and MCAS compliance.
• Engage families and external agencies to support students.
