Virginia Beach City Public Schools seeks a part-time Special Education Job Coach to provide additional adult assistance to students with disabilities during school- and community-based work experiences. Responsibilities include supervision, instruction, and support to help students develop vocational and workplace readiness skills.

The role reports to the Director/Designee and is limited to 29 hours per week, with a temporary agreement through June 4, 2027.

The Special Education Job Coach provides additional adult assistance in supporting students with disabilities during school- and community-based work experiences as outlined in the transition plans of students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Job Coaches provide direct supervision, job-specific instruction, and ongoing support to help students develop vocational, employment, independent living, and workplace readiness skills. Responsibilities include assisting students with learning and maintaining job tasks, promoting appropriate workplace behaviors, facilitating communication between students and worksite supervisors, ensuring student safety, monitoring progress toward IEP transition goals, documenting student performance, and providing feedback to teachers and transition staff.
