Job summary

Achieve Beyond in Bronx, NY seeks a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher to provide one-on-one instruction for 3–5 year olds in CPSE, with flexible scheduling and strong supervision.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS Special Education certification as listed.
• Experience with CPSE programs and working with 3–5 year olds preferred.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in the CPSE program.
• Educate families and caregivers on intervention strategies to support carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings including homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services and submit evaluations and progress reports timely.
• Prepare progress reports per program timelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of child and family information per HIPAA and regulations and submit records on deadlines.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
• Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional Certification
• Permanent Special Education Certification
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

Starting Rate

Hourly $70.00. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Special Education Itinerant Teacher interview process.
