Job summary

Achieve Beyond is seeking a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher for Suffolk, NY. The role offers flexible scheduling, travel across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and robust clinical and administrative support.

You will work directly with children aged 3 to 5, delivering one-on-one instruction in CPSE settings and collaborating with families and caregivers. Location is Suffolk, NY with cases across multiple counties; wage ranges between $65.00 and $68.00 per hour, discussed during

Qualifications

• Must have NYS certifications/licenses for Special Education (Birth-2, Permanent, etc.)
• Must be self-motivated and a team player
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus
• Willingness to travel to assigned cases as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 in the CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on intervention strategies for active involvement
• Work in homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and community settings
• Maintain accurate service records; submit evaluations and progress reports timely
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information under HIPAA and state/federal regulations

Job Responsibilities For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
• Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification
• Permanent Special Education Certification
• TSHH Permanent Certification
• TSLD Initial or Professional Certification
• NYS Licensed Master Social Worker
• NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

StartingRate

hourly $65-68. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Special Education Itinerant Teacher interview process.
