Job summary

Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services in New York City is seeking a Special Education Itinerant Teacher to deliver targeted instruction for children aged 3 to 5 within CPSE programs. The role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to work in homes, clinics, and community settings across NYC.

You will collaborate with families and clinicians, maintain records, and report progress while upholding HIPAA and state regulations. NYS SEIT certification is required or in process.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate compassion and adaptability to support children and families.
• NY State special education certifications suitable for SEIT roles are required or in process.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on intervention strategies to enable carry-over
• Work in diverse settings such as homes, family day care, daycare centers, and community settings
• Maintain accurate records of services; submit evaluations and progress reports timely
• Prepare progress reports per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information and submit records within deadlines

Job Responsibilities for a Special Education ItinerantTeacher:

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements for a Special Education ItinerantTeacher:

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
  o Students with Disabilities (Birth – 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional
  o Permanent Special Education Certification Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

StartingRate: hourly $70.00. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during theSpecial Education ItinerantTeacherinterview process.
