Job summary

Shema Kolainu is seeking a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to provide individualized instruction to preschoolers (ages 3–5) across New York City's five boroughs. You will work in homes and community settings, collaborate on IEPs, and monitor progress to promote independence and a love of learning.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's in Special Education, NYS certification, and may have an Internship Certificate.

Qualifications

• New York State Certification required (Birth-Grade 2 or All Grades).

We seek a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to provide individualized educational services to preschool children (ages 3 to 5 years old) throughout New York City's five boroughs: Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities in their natural environment, including homes and community settings, ensuring that each child receives the individualized support necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role involves collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers to develop and implement tailored educational plans that align with each student’s unique learning needs. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as you will be required to track student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with relevant regulations.
