Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• One year of experience with children or equivalent participation in teacher education with documented support.
• For Title I: associate degree or two years of college or demonstrated reading/writing/math instruction knowledge.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Knowledge of instructional procedures and practices.
• Ability to implement instructional plans and monitor behavior.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow written/oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Performs curricular, instructional, clerical, and support tasks to assist teachers.
• Works with teacher to provide instructional activities for general or special education.
• Performs remedial instruction to reinforce learning.
• Works with students requiring individual or close attention.
• Observes and assists students experiencing difficulties.
• Assists with development of individualized programs and materials.
