Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional to provide classroom support for students with special needs in the resource setting. You will assist in implementing instructional plans, monitor behavior during non-classroom time, and offer clerical support to teachers and staff.

The role requires helping in adapting activities, administering basic health assistance, and supporting student learning to meet IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Age 16+ required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and materials to support classroom objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed to meet health care needs of students.
• Administers tests, homework and make-up work to support teachers in the classroom.
• Monitors students during assigned periods to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Provides instruction to students in various activities to reinforce learning concepts and assist in reaching goals.
• Reports observations and incidents to supervising staff for appropriate action.
