Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional to support the instructional program for students with special needs in the resource classroom. The role includes assisting in implementing plans, monitoring behavior, and providing clerical support to teachers and staff.

Candidates may adapt activities under supervision, participate in in-district trainings for lane advancement, and assist in maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment across various school settings.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the supervision to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers first aid and medical assistance as trained to meet student health needs.
• Administers tests, homework and make-up work to support classroom teachers.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Assists students individually or in groups with lesson tasks to reinforce learning.
• Attends trainings and meetings to stay informed on job functions.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress and implement IEP/504 goals.
• Models appropriate social and interpersonal behavior for students.
• Implements behavioral plans identified in student IEPs under supervision.
• Maintains instructional materials and files to ensure availability and compliance.
• Monitors students in various school environments to maintain safety.
• Performs clerical duties to ensure efficient operations.
• Provides instruction to students in multiple activities to reinforce objectives and IEP/504 plans.
• Reports observations and incidents to instructional/administrative personnel.
• Supervises and escorts students to and from classes for safety.
