Job summary

Tulsa Public Schools seeks a Specially Designed Instructional Coordinator to guide educators in implementing specially designed instruction district-wide. You will coach, mentor and develop teachers, promote evidence-based strategies, and ensure instructional fidelity to improve student outcomes for students with disabilities.

The role is grant-funded and contingent on grant availability; a Bachelor's degree in special education is required and a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in Special Education (required at hire).
  • Three (3) years of experience in special education, including implementation of specially designed instruction.
  • Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or providing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches and mentors teachers in implementing specially designed instruction.
  • Develops and delivers professional development for teachers and support staff.
  • Monitors the fidelity of specially designed instruction implementation across the district.
  • Supports alignment of instruction with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and district goals.
  • Analyzes student performance data to guide instructional coaching and targeted support.
