Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools seeks a Long-Term Substitute, Special Education Instructional Assistant at Walkersville Elementary School. The role supports students with IEPs, under the supervision of a special education teacher, with possible personal care tasks and lifting as needed. Work hours are 8:30AM–4:00PM, at $17.13 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 48 college credits or ParaPro assessment for Title One Schools.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with IEP goals under the direction of a certificated FCPS staff member.
• Provide required personal and/or physical assistance as needed.
• Set up, adapt, and use materials, equipment, and assistive devices for student use.
• Monitor student progress and document updates in appropriate records.
• Attend IEP team meetings and staff meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and data.
