Job summary

School District of Springfield Township in Montgomery County, PA is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students with disabilities under the direction of the special education teacher and principal. You will help implement IEP plans, maintain records, and assist with learning centers and classroom activities.

The role requires reliable teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to work with diverse student needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Must enjoy working with children.
• PA qualification options include 48 credits, an associate degree or higher, or the Paraeducator Credential of Competence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing each student’s educational program per IEP and classroom schedule.
• Document student information including needs, strengths, gains and problem areas for teachers.
• Maintain student records and assist with learning centers and bulletin boards.
• Help with clerical tasks such as correcting assignments and distributing student work.
• Support modifications and behavior plans under teacher direction.
• Escort students to lunch and to various rooms for scheduled activities.
