Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with progress toward an Associate’s degree or CDA, or ESSA-qualified with ECE coursework or two years of early childhood experience.
• Six documented semester hours in early childhood education OR two years of work experience in an early childhood setting as alternative ESSA pathway.
• Experience with or support for individuals with special needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assist in implementing IEPs and behavioral intervention plans.
• Prepare materials and organize classroom activities per lesson plans.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information in line with FERPA.
• Assist with student transitions between classes and health-care needs coordination.
• Utilize assistive technology and AAC devices to meet student needs.
• Document and file required reports and maintain records with confidentiality.
